New Café and Tea Room coming to Kimbridge
Ideal Collection, a group of five pubs, restaurants and cafés, will soon be welcoming a new venue to its line-up: Kimbridge Barn in Romsey.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the River Test, Kimbridge Barn, opening December 2018, is a tea room, café and events venue, offering the very best in culinary experiences as with the other venues in the collection. Ideal Collection wants to create one of the most unique hospitality venues in Hampshire and has invested a substantial £300,000 in the development.
The charming and relaxed café and tea rooms, set within the original building and extending onto a pretty Garden Courtyard, offer the perfect place to meet with friends and family for breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea. In warmer months, guests can sit outdoors in the courtyard, which is brimming with flowers, plants and trees. The roaring outdoor fire pit will provide additional comfort to those dining outside.
The adjacent elegant barn with vaulted ceilings and oak beams is picture perfect for weddings, special birthdays and large corporate functions, accommodating up to 150 guests. This beautifully rustic barn extends onto its own private courtyard and rose garden, creating the romantic backdrop for wedding photos. Back inside, the Boot Room can be booked for small business meetings and be used as a place for wedding guests to gather.
The carefully crafted menu for Kimbridge Barn has been developed by the group’s executive chef and winner of the Great British Menu 2014, James Durrant. It will feature a range of delicious dishes consisting of only the freshest and finest locally sourced seasonal produce and catering for all dietary requirements. Kimbridge Barn will host supper clubs and special themed evenings that are suited to the season. Sunday lunches are also set to be sensational: leisurely, traditional and a true family affair.
Matthew Boyle, Ideal Collection’s founder, said “We’re approaching our 15th year as a business so we’re incredibly excited to be adding Kimbridge Barn to our portfolio. We receive a lot of enquiries from our customers about event spaces so to be able to now accommodate large party sizes to host special occasions, corporate events and now weddings is really special.” He added “Not only can our customers enjoy every day dining at our venues but life-changing special occasions.”
With a host of enticing events planned for the months after the launch, guests can expect to enjoy wedding fayres, arts and crafts workshops, festive wreath making, book and poetry readings, yoga and cinema nights.
